Pregnant patients with inflammatory bowel disease and an ileal pouch-anal anastomosis commonly delivered via cesarean to avoid anal sphincter injury and protect pouch function. Additionally, all vaginal deliveries occurred in the last decade of the study, suggesting increasing perceived safety.
